Trigger Point and Large Joint Injections

Trigger point and large joint injections to break the cycle of pain.

Trigger Point Injections
Trigger point injections are a specific type of local injection that your physician can use to treat local areas of muscle pain and spasm. The most common medications used in trigger point injections are a local anesthetic like Lidocaine. At Southwest Spine and Sport, we include a homeopathic medication called Serapin. We do not use steroids in our trigger point injections. Utilizing these medications can help break the cycle of pain in your back and neck and help restore normal muscle function and motion.

Nerve Blocks
Nerve Block Injections are primarily therapeutic injections. These injections temporarily eliminate pain and inflammation, utilizing anti-inflammatory medication and anesthetic medication. These medications numb the Nerve, and alleviate the pain that originates from that nerve.

Sacro Iliac Injections
Sacroiliac Joint Injection injections are primarily therapeutic injections. These injections eliminate pain and inflammation temporarily by filling the SI joint with an anti-inflammatory medication and anesthetic medication that numbs the joint, the ligaments, and joint capsule around the SI joint and helps with inflammation.

Shoulder Injections
Injections in the shoulder joint are necessary for therapeutic reasons in the course of treatment for shoulder pain. The Injection consists of local anesthesia and Serapin, mixed together.

Hip Joint Injections
If the hip joint is arthritic, has an injury or is experiencing mechanical stress, one may experience hip, buttock, leg or low back pain. A hip joint injection should be considered for patients with these symptoms. The injection can help relieve the pain, and decreases inflammation and improves range of motion.
